The James Dean Festival in Fairmount (USA)

Every September, the James Dean Festival takes place in Fairmount (Indiana, United States of America).

James Byron Dean was a boy who spent his childhood in Fairmount, became a famous actor and died in 1955 at age 24 in a car accident in Cholame (California). You may know him from East of Eden, Rebel without a cause and Giant, which are the only three movies he starred in.

Lots of things take place during the festival, such as a tractor-pulling race, a James Dean look-alike contest and a car show. If you come join the fans this event draws each year, you will be able to enjoy live music and parades as well.

This four-day long remembrance celebration begins Thursday, September 25th and ends Sunday, September 28th. Why not come have some fun?

By the way, I bet you did not know that Jim Davis, creator of Garfield, was raised in Fairmount as well, did  you?
